We (Asher and I) went hiking into the mountains behind dad's refuge in the Catalina Mountain range that lingers above Tucson. Asher had an awesome title for this post while we were hiking, but things that happen up there stay up there. We didn't know the time. We ate when we were hungry, drank when we were thirsty, slept when we couldn't walk anymore, and talked when we thought. It was ludicrously windy. Backpacks felt like sails.

We walked up the Charouleau gap road after bush-whacking for a couple miles. Then we walked up the upper CDO up onto the higher ridges almost to the top of Mt lemmon. Then we veered off down the Oracle ridge to end up in Oracle. A good chunk of it compromised a section of the Arizona trail. A good chunk of it we also were not all too sure about which way to go. Luckily we had 2 days and nothing to do but go get lost.

We met deer, cows, owls, tarantulas, off-roaders, and hunters, which also meant we met the hunted. We did not meet any other hikers. (Why the is my itunes playing Mike Jones!?) This journey sort of completed our tour of the Catalinas. Next time we have time it is time for another mountain range.
It is cold on top of a windy mountain at night. Be prepared.

We are on the right trail! which was mostly elusive

Last weekend I went to Albuquerque to play in a hat tournament. I remet some awesome Asian guy named Jimmy Tang, who turned 22 on Friday night, which meant party. On Saturday, I got to play on Missy's team, which is good, especially if you like perfect records. We called ourselves big-birds. There was a large party in a meditation center, which seems like an unusual combination, but it was by far the best place i have ever seen a party placed. Then, we got delayed on the way home by a severely mangled truck looking thing and a plethora of piled up cars. Finally I got home (Flagstaff), to roost for a couple days before cruising south to Tucson for thanksgiving, which I spent with the family as you do on thanksgiving.

I went to Grand Junction, CO. It was beautiful on another level especially with the insane clouds from the storms passing through at the same time as us. We brought 5 guys and 10 ladies from Flagland to make up our team, Disco Ballin/Trash, and most of Durango's team too. We won some, we lost some. It rained some, and sunned some. There was some bowling alley adventures, and a massage train, boat races, and a carnival. We even watched part of the Notebook and had a game of Catan. What more could you want in a weekend?

Phoenix is still just about my least favorite city, but sometimes it is a good place to be. Last weekend we cruised south, after brushing the snow of the car, as a team for a practice tournament called Haboob at ASU. We played well as a unit mostly. Lots of people hurt themselves which is not so rad. This meant uninjured people ran until they couldn't anymore. At the end of the day, it was nice to feel the warmth, and laugh til it hurt a few times. Not many pictures.

Returning to cloud engulfment.

I moved into this awesome house a couple months ago. I have 3 of the most awesome room mates imaginable, and anything flies around here. There are three huge dogs, Obie, Lala, and Jobin. We are next to down town, and have prime sunset viewage. There is a huge garden, dog yard, front yard, and bike shed/garage. We are trying not to use central heating because we have a boss wood stove, but recently it's be getting mighty cold.
We have been getting a few couch surfers and frequently there are lots of drifters about. The house is really open to anyone who needs some tea or a sleeping space regardless if it's because home is too far away and too much alcohol was consumed or otherwise.
Front Door! Open to anyone.
