Desert Rocks was one crazy surreal experience. Completely incomparable to Sasquatch.

The festival, located in the desert of eastern Utah, embraced the genre: 'celebrating consciousness' which attracts a very interesting crowd. We volunteered for tickets which brought us into the crew that made it all happen. The vibe of the whole place for the 4 days was like having one big family of three thousand like minded friends at war with the elements. It got unbearably hot and windy almost every day, so the river was the retreat. It got cold and yet still windy at night. Face masks and ski goggles (for those lucky enough to bring them {not me}) were super useful friends.

One particular feature of the green river is its famous wind storms which easily pass 50mph and create monsters of dust devils. this was simply a part of life. My tent blew away and accumulated so much dust that i simply decided not to sleep after friday night. Which explains the delirious state of my mind right now. I did find it. Our pirate flag got pirated, and other than that i think I kept a pretty good grip on my belongings, considering the circumstances.

The music and performance was amazing in the most odd ways. Notably, the Wailers played a whole host of Marley, and Lucent Dossier Experience was just weird. Hot Buttered Rum, Elephant Revival, Phadroid, Beats Antique, Sorne, and the poetry slam were all highlights.

These pictures are of our friends, and some stuff I painted on people, and the scenery. There were again plenty of photo worthy moments I missed in my madness.

We moved on out from SLC to camp in Uinta National forest south of the SLC. We ventured in to the Provo canyon and strolled about for a while. Found some most amazingly beautiful mountains. In the morning we moved on down to Moab for some resupply. We wandered around canyon-lands for a couple days before re-emerging to scope Arches tourist style (with out leaving the car). We checked out the thrift store situation in Moab and then in Green River with good results.

Didn't really use my camera much. Just for the sunset the day after we went a trekking.

We came down from Jackson and camped in Wasatch national forest in Utah. Hung out by one beautiful creek, crossed a bunch of rivers, like bear river, and snake river, and deer river, and beaver river. Spent a day in the Salt Lake City. Got to witness the lbgt parade down town, the blue plate diner, and the world famous violin making school. Asher helped win the battle between the water hole and the lemon.

We checked out the Yellowstone and Grand Teton national Parks on the way south. Said what up to the Bison and Elk. Camped on the way through to Jackson. The views were breathtaking. I guess they saved those natural lands for a reason. Did not get eaten. We are now in Jackson couch surfing with awesome host: Ariel. An awesome place to restore cleanliness.
