Life on the ilha is nice. There are some great people doing a really good job at enjoying life. It is a nice atmosphere to draw inspiration. Here are some photos from this week.

Winter here is nice, I sit here wearing that really great tank top that reads
"global warming killed frosty"
Its a cold day by local standards.

My favorite photos from the nightly adventures. These adventures usually involve traveling by bus, taxi, bike, or car. or any combination of all these things. There is usually dancing, much interesting half English/half Portuguese conversation, many AA batteries, and apparently a stripper pole some times. The life of the night is an interesting part of the culture in any culture any where, ever. As such, it is certainly my job to explore.

The freedom to be open.

The epic madness that ensues when 110,000 people take to the streets in the name of diversity. The Parada here in Floripa thrives on a celebration of LBGT by, seemingly, the entire population, gay or straight. The day was a giant jumble of street vendors (mostly selling alcohol), fabulous costumes, 6 or 7 party trucks, (those things pack a punch), dancing, and a cause: freedom.

Once I was a parading trajectory. Then I landed on a train. Which flew me through one country. To another. Then to a plane. I boarded a bus. Slept through the day. I've begun to discover the majesty of Brazil. Favorite thus far? Coração. O veja. I might have run out of money. Already. That's fine.
